Evergreen tree, up to 10 m high, with a sparse, wide cone-shaped, often weeping crown. Branchlets slender, pendulous, about 1 mm thick. Leaves membranous, ovate or rhombic, green or glaucous, with an oblong dorsal gland. Fruits 4-8 mm long, semiglobose fleshy cones. Middle and upper mountain belts. Tien Shan, Pamir-Alay, Hindu Kush.
